Other: He was mute by birth and by anugraha of the 19th Acharya Shri Martanda Vidyaghanendra Sarasvati got the power of speech. Later He took ashrama under the same Guru and became the next Pithadhipati. He himself gave the power of composing poetry to one poet by name Menthaka. He is mentioned in many compositions of this poet and another poet Ramilla. He is also historically connected to King Harsha Vikramaditya of Ujjain, and to the Kashmiri King Pravarasena.
The composition of the Muka Panchashati is also ascribed to this Acharya.
श्रीसर्वज्ञसदाशिवबोधेन्द्रकृता पुण्यश्लोकमञ्जरी
जातः खल्वाटवीराद् गणककुलमणेः साधु विद्यावतीतो
मूको मूकार्भनामा भुवनगुरुपदाम्भोजरेणोर्महिम्ना।
व्यक्तप्रौढोक्तिराप्त्वोपनयनमखिलाम्नायजातं च ताताद्
गृह्णन् सन्न्यासम् आसीत् परम् अधिजगदाचार्यपीठं स धीरः॥४३॥
श्रीशङ्करेन्द्रः श्रितमातृगुप्तम् आधाय वर्णाश्रमधर्मपालम्।
सैकोनषष्टित्रिशते शकेऽब्दे सिद्धिं गतः श्रावणपूर्णिमायाम्॥४४॥
॥ श्रीसदाशिवेन्द्रसरस्वतीश्रीचरणविरचिता जगद्गुरु-रत्न-माला ॥
घन-वाग् जनि-मूक एव विद्याघन-कारुण्यत ऊढ-हृद्य-विद्यः ।
कलयन्नपि मेण्ठकं कवीन्द्रं कलयेन्नः स शिवानि शङ्करेन्द्रः ॥ ४९ ॥
अपि यः श्रित-मातृगुप्त-विद्याधिप-सेतुप्रवरादि-सूरि-हृद्याम् ।
सुषमाम् अधिताहिमाद्रि-भूमौ विषमादित्य-नुतोऽवतात् स चामुम् ॥ ५० ॥
॥ पञ्चषष्टितमैः पीठाधिपतिभिः श्रीमत्सुदर्शनमहादेवेन्द्रसरस्वतीश्रीचरणैः प्रणीतः श्री-काञ्ची-कामकोटि-पीठ-जगद्-गुरु-परम्परा-स्तवः ॥

कौतस्कुतोत्पात-केतुं निश्शङ्कं नौमि शङ्करम् ॥ २९ ॥
